We will tailor our services based on your needs. Our experienced team will adopt the right approach for your organisation.
We start every engagement with an AI compliance review to understand your baseline level of compliance and areas in which you need to improve.
The information we gather during the gap analysis is also used to on-board your organisation as an AI Governance Officer client.
During onboarding, we will designate you with a named primary and a supporting AI Governance Officer and provide you with key contact details.
Have a free, no-obligation chat with one of our AI Governance experts to talk about your compliance needs, so we can understand your requirements. We’ll ask about your size, structure, management systems, working practices, culture, strategy and goals.
We offer three base AI Governance Officer packages to choose from, but we know there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to AI compliance, which is why we can tailor your package to be unique to your organisation, ensuring you are getting the most from your engagement with us.
After assessing your needs from our initial engagement, we will tailor a package to suit you, and send you a Statement of Work and Proposal document. Once approved, we will assign you your dedicated AI Governance Consultant who will guide you through the next steps.
An AI Governance Officer is an independent expert who advises an organisation on its AI compliance responsibilities, as well as assisting with monitoring the organisation’s compliance with these obligations.
Under the UK’s General Data Protection Regulation (“UK GDPR”) and EU’s Artificial Intelligence Act (“AI Act”), organisations have obligations that they must comply with when the use AI. Appointing an AI Governance Officer makes sense as they can help ensure your employees understand their AI compliance obligations and responsibilities and oversee your AI governance framework.
If you operate a consumer-facing business, and use AI to support the provision of your services, then having a dedicated AI Governance Officer can help you stay on top of AI laws and help build a relationship of trust with your consumers. If your organisation is a developer of AI technologies, having an AI Governance Officer can also help build confidence with the organisations that procure your technology.
There are clear advantages to appointing an AI Governance Officer externally vs hiring internally. Ultimately, it requires taking a risk-based approach and balancing this against internal expertise, business objectives and budget, before committing either way.
As an AI Governance Officer services provider, we see it from both sides. But if you do decide to hire internally, we can also support that internal role and provide a second opinion and be an additional resource.
We recommend that you start taking action now. Non-compliance with laws such as the AI Act is just one of the risks associated with using AI; there are also many other potential risks such as bias, IP infringement, hallucinations and safety. As a result, it is important that you have controls and measures in place to mitigate these risks.
You can find more information on the risks of AI and non-compliance in our blog posts.
If you’re onboarding ChatGPT into your operations, you need to ensure that you’re carrying out checks from an organisational standpoint, such as who will be using it and for what purpose, but also from a technical perspective, such as how it’s going to be integrated into your business. You also need to think about your supply chain – consider whether to inform your customers of the use of ChatGPT in your regular operations and how to communicate this.
It is equally important to be aware of the type of data that is being put into the AI system by employees and whether it contains any sensitive sales data or customer details. Enforcing restrictions, or at the very least ensuring staff have awareness training over the types of data that should be inputted into ChatGPT is very important when we consider organisational measures to ensure that no proprietary information is put into the public domain.
