Bytetin Two: Habit – declutter your applications regularly
00010
Just like spring cleaning your home, you should regularly clean up your phone’s applications. If you don’t use an app – and don’t think you will in the future – then you’re best off deleting it.
Extra tip: Only ever download apps from the official store(s).
It’s a great habit to delete any application you’re not using. So, open your smartphone and get rid of apps which could be slowing your phone down, sharing your data without your knowledge or, if they’re out of date or now unsupported, could harbour security flaws which will make your smartphone easier to hack.
For iPhone:
- Turn on your iPhone and open the Settings app
- Go to General
- Now scroll down a little and tap on the iPhone Storage tab
- Now, wait for some seconds for the apps to load. You will now see the list of the apps you’ve not opened for a long time and the ones you’ve not used at all
- Now uninstall those unused apps and free up your device storage
For Android users:
- Turn on your phone and open the Settings app
- Go to the Play Store app
- Open the app and click on your icon (top right)
- Select manage apps and device
- Select the Manage tab
- Filter on Least used and delete those unused apps
- Across from “Your apps” select the filter icon
- Filter on All and Last Used
- Now uninstall those unused apps and free up your device storage
Habit:
Get used to deleting unused apps
