The Challenge

What challenges were you and your team experiencing prior to working with us – what prompted you to seek a solution?
It is critical to our business that we are able to demonstrate to our clients that we have a strong data protection compliance regime. As a result, we appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO) to oversee our compliance with relevant data protection legislation and guidance to ensure Cappfinity has a robust data protection programme in place. This DPO was leaving our business so we needed to find a replacement in order to maintain our ongoing compliance and therefore explored outsourced DPO options.

How did you go about searching for the solution and services? Our IT manager conducted initial research online and identified Evalian®, alongside other organisations that provide similar services.

Please describe the reasons you decided to work with us. We had detailed discussions with a number of providers, and it was apparent that Evalian® had a wealth of experience within its team and understood our business and the level of support we would require to ensure robust compliance.

Did you have any expectations going into the process? Based on initial discussions with Evalian®, we had high expectations that they would deliver an excellent service. Following an initial health check to assess our current data protection compliance, we were confident that we had selected the right service provider and decided to engage Evalian® as our outsourced DPO, confident they could deliver a high-quality service.


Can you describe the process we took your business through and anything you learnt about your own business through working this way?
Evalian®conducted a health check to assess Cappfinity’s current levels of compliance. This included a discovery exercise where they interviewed key stakeholders and reviewed our key data protection documentation. They set out their key findings and recommendations in a report. This demonstrated that we had strong levels of compliance across all areas but the review identified ways to enhance and streamline these processes.

We were very happy with this initial piece of work and therefore engaged Evalian as our DPO.

Were there any challenges you found along the way and how did you feel we or your consultant, helped to support you through that? We haven’t encountered any significant challenges so far and we have been impressed by the speed and quality of service. Our designated consultant has excellent knowledge of data protection law and has worked well with our business up to now. This is particularly important given the ever-changing data protection environment. 


What impact have the results from working with us had on your clients/stakeholders? Following Evalian’s health check, we are extremely confident that we have a strong data protection compliance framework in place and now with Evalian’s support, we can ensure that we maintain strong levels of compliance in the future.

What do you hope to achieve in your future working relationship with us? We hope to further enhance our data protection compliance and we have confidence in Evalian® helping us achieve this.​
