Video: ISO 27001 consultancy & implementation services
In this video, Daniel Djiann discusses the importance of ISO standards. Organisations that handle sensitive information can no longer treat ISO 27001 certification as optional.
Regulators, partners, and clients now expect clear evidence that you identify, manage, and embed information security risks into everyday operations. At the same time, emerging technologies introduce new complexities, making a structured, standards-led approach essential.
ISO 27001 is the international standard for information security management (read our comprehensive Guide to ISO 27001 here). It provides a structured, risk-based framework to protect confidential data, reduce the likelihood of breaches, and ensure consistent security controls across your organisation. More importantly, it demonstrates that your business takes information security seriously — not just in policy, but in practice.
For many organisations, ISO 27001 certification is a commercial requirement. Large enterprises, public sector bodies, and regulated industries now insist their suppliers meet recognised security standards. Achieving certification strengthens trust, shortens sales cycles, and removes barriers to growth.
Daniel Djiann, Head of ISO & Business Continuity Practice:
“ISO 27001 is the international standard for information security. It’s one of the older standards and it’s all about implementing and embedding information security principles within an organisation, so that information is protected to reduce the risk of confidentiality breaches, and promote consistency in the way organisations operate and implement the security controls.
Being certified to ISO 27001 certainly gives you an advantage against the competition. It demonstrates that you have implemented best practice.
A lot of organisations now, especially large organisations and governments, insist on their suppliers being certified to ISO 27001. Knowing that these organisations have implemented and are certified to ISO 27001 reassures internal and external stakeholders that the organisation is committed to protecting any information that’s been entrusted.
It’s good to know that your employer has your information at heart and is willing to put what is needed in place to protect it. So why bring a consultant in? Very often it’s to do with the expertise. An organisation such as Evalian has implemented the ISO 27000 standard in probably 80 to 120 organisations.
Through the knowledge we have gained and through the experience that we have, we know how to interpret the standard and how to apply it to each organisation, depending on their context, depending on their industry, but also their physical location.
And that’s why very often organisations prefer to bring somebody from the outside because they will have a fresh look at things and they will not be influenced by company politics.”
